The biggest Disney cruise ships are, by their very nature, the Disney ships with the most watery fun zones and other family-friendly attractions on their top decks, as well as the most restaurants, bars and showrooms. They also have the biggest array of cabins and suites — as well as the most variation in cabin and suite types. Having sailed four of Disney Cruise Line's five ships, I can say the experience is indeed special — especially if you have kids.

Your kids need to be potty trained to stay in this club, so use that as motivation for a kid approaching 3 years old before your next cruise. As a parent, my favorite part of a Disney cruise might be the included kids programs that children actually want to attend. If the kids are happy for a few hours, the parents can actually relax, too. These lines can get long, so I recommend riding first thing when you board if the port is warm enough. This is a fun thing to do before meeting a princess, before a more formal night or anytime you want to see a huge smile on your kid's face.

While kids up to 12 are welcome in the main Oceaneer Club, they may start moving up to the tween club by the time they are 10 years old. Disney Wish has the added perk in the kids club of a slide that takes the kids straight from the main atrium and into the fun. Your kids don't need an appointment to pop in here; they can come anytime from open to close — and the club stays open pretty late. All five Disney ships have amazing spaces for kids in the 3-to-12-year-old range in the Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab. All of Disney Cruise Line's ships have some kind of waterslide on board.

If it's a sea day in a warm-weather destination, and you're bound for the top deck, that means looking like you're going to the beach. Finally, 1923 offers a dining experience steeped in the golden age of Hollywood. Named after the year the Disney brothers founded their first studio, you’ll enjoy the flavors of California while surrounded by relics of the early days of animation. No timeline for when the ship will sail with guests was shared, though previous reports have stated that the maiden voyage is expected to take place sometime in 2025, alongside rumors of it being delayed until 2026.
The 144,000-ton vessel—which is the sister ship to Disney Wish and the forthcoming Disney Treasure—is now officially under construction in Papenburg, Germany. The cruise line celebrated with a keel laying ceremony at the Meyer Werft shipyard. On the three biggest Disney vessels (Disney Wish, Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream), you'll find large water coasters careening around the top deck — a level of attraction you don't find on the two smaller Disney ships. Disney plans to finish construction on the vessel and operate it out of Singapore starting in 2025.
